Football fans across the world today remember one time world best player and former Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho as today marks 14 years ago when the Brazilian scored a brace and got an unforgettable standing ovation at the Santiago Bernabeau.
Dinho as fondly called by fans gave a fascinating display against Real Madrid and dribbling almost all the players on the pitch and making the Madrid defense look like puppets in the process.
He was an embodiment of a complete player as he could dribble, player free kicks, penalties, and corners, create assists and score mouth opening goals that the world has never seen before.
Ronaldinho’s dynamic style of play won him the Ballon D’Or trophy in 2005 after having a successful season in Spain and Europe as a whole with Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard coming second and former club teammate, Samuel Eto’o coming third.
He also won the World Cup with the Brazilian national team in 2002 after beating Germany 2 – 0 in a competition hosted by Korea and Japan.
Dinho joined Barcelona from PSG of France in 2003 in one of the most successful transfers ever recorded in football as the player went ahead to win every possible club trophies with Barcelona and playing five years at the club before leaving for AC Milan.
Ronaldinho is believed to be the most talented player in the history of football and the most skillful in the round leather game.
Recall that Ronaldinho was the first player to provide a senior goal assist from Barca legend and player, Lionel Messi.
