Reports emanating from Spain have stated that Spanish champions, Barcelona board are making moves to approach Paris Saint Germaine for a possible return of Brazilian superstar, Neymar to the Camp Nou.
Neymar who controversially departed Barcelona in 2017 after PSG paid his 222m Euro buyout clause has also been making steps to make his way back Barcelona. It was reported that last season, Neymar pushed for a move back to Spain when he accepted to pay part of his transfer fee, but a deal was not reached by both clubs before end of the transfer window.
The Barcelona board, headed by club president, Josep Bartomeu has informed PSG of the club’s interest to see Neymar back at Barcelona with reports saying that PSG is willing to let the player leave only if Barcelona will pay 180m euros.
Barcelona is however ready to go back to the negotiation table with the French Champions which will see Neymar return to Camp Nou by the summer.
The Barcelona board is determined to bring back the player as a replacement for aging club legend, Lionel Messi . Neymar is seen as the heir to Messi’s throne at Barcelona, such that when the Argentine superstar retires, Barcelona will have another player to rely on.
Since Neymar’s departure in 2017, Barcelona have bought Ousmane Dembele and Phelippe Countinho as replacement for the player but both have not lived up to their expectation.
